Humana Inc. and Aetna Inc. have terminated their merger agreement. Louisville-based Humana (NYSE: HUM) issued a news release this morning to announce the “mutual termination” after last month’s federal court ruling that blocked the transaction. Under the terms of the merger agreement, Humana is entitled to a breakup fee of $1 billion, and the company said today that would amount to about $630 million after taxes.
